Important update on the discontinued Kantech wireless fobs and transmitters

It has been several months since we learnt about Kantech's sudden production stop of there WLS products. This was and still is a source of frustration and concern with lack of availability and support for the P82WLS series of transmitters.

Kantech has recently announced there new product rollout, these new products are to replace the functionality that was available under the former WLS product line.

Below are the links to the new product literature which highlights the new footprint and functionality. The documentation does not make any mention of compatibility between these products.

 We have been advised that these are now at the manufacturing stage and not widely available for distribution.  The new products are not expected to become easily available until the last quarter of 2025 or 1st quarter of 2026.

There is still a good deal that is unknown yet from the provided literature we can determine that the new system is not backward compatible and will not support the older platform. 

Many where anticipating continued compatibility via this new platform which unfortunately has not been incorporated. 

Maintaining the existing Kantech WLS Garage operators (receiver and transmitters) will require locating remaining stock from secondary  markets. Sourcing these will come at a risk as many of the products sitting in 3rd party shelves have not been returned after the product recall from  a year ago. Be sure you purchase these from a reputable source. Ashton Security Inc has made sure all our Kantech products, subject to any recall, have been removed from our inventory.

Presently the only commonly available WLS products remaining are the P82WLS with limited stock.
